10. With the new means intended to be placed at the disposal of the Executive, the escape of such marauding parties would be, if not almost impossible, yet rendered extremely difficult. In a few minutes, for example, after the outrage committed at Shew Kiwan, information would have been sent to the Police station round the Coast; and in 3/4 of an hour the Colonial Gunboat and Launch, or perhaps two Launches, as sanctioned by the Duke of Buckingham
